The
Black Creek Trail is a 40-mile trail
running through the Black Creek Wilderness Area and the Desoto National
Forest. There are two primary sections, a 16.6 mile section from Fairley
Bridge to Janice Landing and a 24.1 mile section from Janice Landing
to Big Creek Landing. Both sections are limited to foot traffic and
are well-marked and in excellent condition. The trail takes you along
Black Creek, with diversions into the wilderness area and across over
80 footbridges.
We strongly encourage
you to pay $3.00 each to download the Fairley-Janice
eTrail and the Janice-Big
Creek eTrail on these two sections (maps below) by Trails.com.
They are extremely informative and give you a great understanding
of the uniqueness of this hike. We are proud to offer shuttle services
to and from the trailheads. We offer secure parking in our lot,
and can assist you with planning any hike. If you have a few days,
we suggest a combination hiking and paddling trip involving one
day of paddling, and two days of hiking, with your nights spent
camping on the soft sand bars that line Black Creek. Call us for
more details.
