The fishing in Black Creek is great. The river does not see much pressure, so there are abundant stocks of largemouth, redeye bass, catfish, skipjacks, bream and sunfish. You can have a great day with ultralight tackle or flyfishing gear. If you want to catch a canoe full of crappie, put a bit of worm on the treble hook of a small “Rooster Tail.” If your timing is good, you could literally catch hundreds of fish. If you are interested in hiking back to Beaverdam Creek, there are some remote spots that are rarely fished.
Our 1-acre stock pond is stocked with bass, bream and catfish. WARNING: The catfish are big, and they bite! Fishing is free with a canoe rental or camping. Fishing is catch-and-release only.
For the hunter out there, keep an eye on our website for updates on dove, deer, turkey and hogs. If we could shoot from our porch, we'd have a freezer full. The turkeys literally gave our friend Jimmy a heart attack (he's doing fine).
